Alacrity 2026 concludes at AISSMS IOIT with a grand cultural and technical showcase

Pune: The AISSMS Institute of Information Technology (IOIT) successfully organized its annual flagship festival, ‘Alacrity 2026,’ from February 18 to 20, 2026. The three-day event, which seamlessly integrated art, sports, and technology, saw a massive turnout of over 3,500 students. Principal Dr. P. B. Mane, while addressing the gathering, remarked that the festival has evolved into a vital platform for the holistic growth and creative expression of the student community.

The mega event was conducted under the patronage and guidance of Hon. Secretary Shri Malojiraje Chhatrapati, Joint Secretary Shri Suresh Pratap Shinde, and the members of the Management and Governing Council. A significant highlight of this year’s edition was the participation of a student delegation from Happy Science University, Japan. The inclusion of international students fostered a unique environment for cross-cultural dialogue and technical exchange, adding a global dimension to the festivities.

The glamour quotient of the festival was elevated by the presence of renowned Marathi film actress Prarthana Behere, who attended as the Chief Guest. Accompanying her was Mr. Rajesh Madhai, Vice President – Products & Platforms at Zensar Technologies, who graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Both dignitaries interacted with the students, emphasizing the importance of balancing academic rigor with extracurricular passion.

The campus remained a hub of activity with 14 cultural competitions and a diverse range of technical and sporting events. The festival featured high-energy football and chess tournaments, alongside intellectually stimulating segments such as the Ideathon, Robo Race, and Tech Hunt. These competitions were designed to challenge the students’ strategic thinking and technical prowess in real-world scenarios.

The successful coordination of the festival was led by Prof. Dr. Vinita Philip, Dean – Student Affairs, along with Prof. Devendra Itole, Technical In-Charge, and Physical Education Director Dr. Deepali More. The event concluded on a triumphant note, with the institute reaffirming its commitment to nurturing talent through such comprehensive campus initiatives.
