India’s first and largest poetry book featuring 1,121 poems on the subject “आई” (Mother) was launched by CA Shankar Andani

Pune, December 14, 2025: A significant milestone in Indian literature was marked with the launch of ‘Aai – Prem, Mamta, Vatsalya’, India’s first and largest poetry collection devoted entirely to the theme of Mother (आई). The grand launch ceremony was held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the historic V.K. Rajwade Auditorium, Itihas Sanshodhan Mandal, Bharat Natya Mandir, Sadashiv Peth, Pune, in the presence of eminent spiritual leaders, Padma awardees, litterateurs, and social thinkers. The book was conceptualized and edited by Prof. (CA) Dr. Shankar Ghanshyamdas Andani, a renowned academician, thinker, and President of the SAAI Indian Trust Association (SITA). The publication has been recognized as a unique and historic work, featuring 1,121 poems penned by nearly 200 poets, making it the largest poetry book in India centered on a single subject—Motherhood. Through diverse poetic expressions, deep emotions of love, sacrifice, compassion, nurturing, and unconditional care have been beautifully portrayed. The release ceremony was presided over by Padma Shri Hon. Shri Bhiku Ramji Idhate, while spiritual guidance for the event was provided by Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Yogabhrus Dr. Krushnadev Giriji Maharaj. The occasion was further enriched by the revered presence of 1008 Mahamandaleshwar Dattatray Dahivel Maharaj, adding spiritual grace to the literary celebration. The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Padma Shri Hon. Dr. Vikas Mahatme, Padma Shri Hon. Shri Popatram Pawar Saheb, Padma Shri Hon. Smt. Soharabai Popere, along with senior social leaders, writers, and cultural contributors. Appreciation was widely expressed for the editor’s vision and the collective efforts of poets in creating a monumental tribute to motherhood. It was shared that ‘Aai’ is not merely a book, but a cultural movement intended to honor the timeless role of mothers in shaping individuals, society, and civilization. The compilation was described as a reflection of shared emotions and lived experiences drawn from diverse regions, languages, and generations. The ceremony also included the presentation of 11 Ideal Poet – Mother Honor Awards and 11 Ideal Literary Service Awards, through which outstanding contributions to literature and social values were recognized. The program concluded with a strong message emphasizing the preservation of emotional and cultural roots through literature. With the launch of ‘Aai’, a historic chapter was added to Indian literary history, reaffirming poetry’s powerful role as a medium of emotional, social, and cultural expression.
