Ishaara Brings Back Undivided Punjab Menu by Chef Sherry Mehta in Mumbai

Undivided Punjab menu spread by Chef Sherry Mehta at Ishaara Restaurant by Bellona Hospitality-PNN

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 18: Ishaara, a restaurant known for its authentic Indian cuisine, brings back the much-loved Undivided Punjab pop-up menu to Mumbai.  After winning hearts in Pune, Bangalore, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad, this special menu, a tribute to the rich, pre-partition food traditions of Punjab,  makes its final stop at Ishaara, Palladium Mall, starting 16th July 2025.

Curated by Chef Sherry Mehta and inspired by a candid conversation with Bellona Hospitality’s MD, Prashant Issar, the menu was born from a shared nostalgia. As they reminisced about their Punjabi roots, they realized how many traditional dishes had faded from memory. This sparked the idea to revive those long-lost recipes and celebrate the rich, cross-cultural heritage of Punjab.

The undivided Punjab menu brings to life forgotten flavours from the kitchens of pre-partition cities like Lahore, Amritsar, and Rawalpindi. The dishes include authentic curries, pulav, kebabs, and breads from before the tandoor as we know it. Influenced by Greek, Persian, Moorish, and British cuisines, these dishes tell stories of a Punjab that once knew no borders.

Prashant Issar, Managing Director of Bellona Hospitality, shared, “Undivided Punjab began as a deeply personal idea, a nostalgic conversation about lost recipes and fading culinary memories. To see it resonate with people across cities has been incredibly moving. This is the final showcase in Mumbai, an ode to the recipes long lost in time across the borders.”

“This journey has been deeply personal. With every dish, I’ve tried to honour the forgotten kitchens and stories of a land that once thrived in unity. Undivided Punjab is more than a menu; it’s a memory, a legacy, and a tribute to generations before us. Bringing it to Mumbai one last time feels like coming home,” says Chef Sherry Mehta.

Back in Mumbai for its final run, this pop-up menu brings back forgotten recipes crafted with age-old techniques, slow-cooked in clay pots, seasoned with hand-ground spices, and made using local ingredients. Hosted at Ishaara, an award-winning restaurant recognized by the Times Food & Nightlife Awards and NDTV, this is a last chance to experience the flavours that have captured hearts across the country.
